Orlando Theme Parks

High on the itinerary for most people who check out holidays to Orlando are the numerous theme parks that are to be found around the city. The most famous of these theme parks has to be Walt Disney World, which has grown into an extensive set of attractions and a living city in its own right. There is also a good selection of other theme parks that can be explored and enjoyed by an entire family on holiday. Many of the attractions in Orlando have adopted a theme park flavoured approach to the things that they do, whether as a museum or a restaurant. It is the theme parks that dominate Orlando and bring in a high amount of tourists every year to experience the attractions.

Walt Disney World is the most recognisable of the theme parks in the Orlando area, and possibly the most famous theme park in the world. It features the characters from the Walt Disney studios as well as several other family-friendly attractions and adventures. The theme park is so widespread that it is a city in its own right. Walt Disney World contains theme parks within the park: the Magic Kingdom, the Disney-MGM Studios, Epcot Center, and Animal Kingdom. All of these attract large numbers of visitors all around the year. Walt Disney World also has its own extensive on-site tourist facilities, including transport, restaurants, and medical facilities. What makes visitors excited about being here is the chance to be photographed with one of the much loved Disney characters that epitomises the atmosphere and energy of the theme park.

Universal Orlando combines two major theme parks of its own: the world famous Universal Studios and the Universal Islands of Adventure. Universal Orlando is the second largest holiday resort after Walt Disney World. When touring Universal Studios, it is possible to get up close and personal with adventures based on several Universal Studios success stories, including Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, and the Incredible Hulk. The Universal Studios attractions bring large numbers of visitors closer to the sets and the backstage action of a number of well-known blockbusters, and it include shows and rides as well as film sets and related thrills.

SeaWorld Orlando has grown into one of the most respected and well-known aquarium style attractions in the world, and it gives visitors the chance to encounter a wide variety of aquatic species. The shows and rides that are featured in this theme park include the killer whales, polar bears, turtles, and other sea creatures that are housed in the park. SeaWorld also hosts tours that allow visitors to see certain sea animals up close and interact with them. It is possible to combine a trip to SeaWorld Orlando with a visit to Busch Gardens, a zoo that houses a large number of endangered species beyond the aquatic world. This combination means that a visit from each park can result in education and experiences concerning a wide variety of wildlife and adventures for the family.
